4/14/2024 0 Comments What is mc and ic in astrology![]() ![]() The IC is the base of your chart, and the Midheaven is where you climb the ladder. On the North end, above the highest point of your chart, is the Midheaven. It represents your ancestral roots, your foundational roots. The IC is the South Angle and points below the foundation of the chart. The Ascendent is like the front door of the chart, the Descendent is like the back door. These two points are connected, always 180 degrees apart/in opposite signs, and they represent your ever evolving journey of identity and self, and who you are in relationship with others. The Descendent represents your relationship self, it’s how you invite others in, how you learn to compromise & collaborate. The Ascendent is your persona and social self, it’s how you present who you are within to the outside world. When you reach one end of the street, the other end doesn’t disappear and no longer exist. ![]() Like the Nodes (more here & here), they are like the street that you are on. They represent the 4 corners or points in your chart where you externalize what is within. The East/West or horizontal angle is the the Ascendent & Descendent, the North/South or vertical angle is the Midheaven and IC (Imum Coeli or Nadir). The Angles are the East/West and North/South lines of your chart. ![]() But first, what is the Midheaven? It’s not a planet or asteroid, a transit or an aspect, it’s an Angle. Some Zoomer on the tick tock must have tweeted about Midheavens or something because suddenly all the kids are talking about them. ![]()
